Choung S. Park, the founder of Choung Networks(http://www.choung.net/), started the telnet client project while he was attending graduate school. The year was 1996 and at that time the Internet was in its first outbreak to the general public. The version of Windows was 3.1 and NCSA browser was the only one browser that you could surf the Web with.

After years of development Token2 was released, adding the number 2 to its original name, Token, to denote its Win32 nature. Token2 was immediately welcomed by a vast amount of users who were looking for a simple yet powerful terminal software for Windows. Even many file downloading sites, including TUCOWS and ZDNet, gave Token2 their highest ratings.

As the number of users grew and positive feedbacks piled high, Choung S. Park decided to start his own company in order to serve his users more promptly and to create more innovative, simple to use, powerful software. Token2 was the obvious choice as the first product of Choung Networks, however, instead of converting the license of Token2 from freeware to shareware after a few enhancements, it was decided to create a totally new telnet client called SecureToken. Nevertheless, we have decided to maintain Token2 for the user's convenience and to commemorate how this company, Choung Networks, began.

Although this software has not been updated since its last release in 1999, it is still usable. It even works smoothly in Windows 2000 and XP.

Currently, we do not have any plan to update Token2, the freeware version, in near future. However, we will continue to have the software available as it is and maintain its original license terms and distribution sets.
