The following entries have been added to online handbooks,
"Token2Shell & Token2Shell/Mobile":
We have removed references and download links for the previous software from our new site. This decision was made in order to give the new Token2Shell a fresh new start. However, it may have caused some confusions or inconvenience for previous product users and customers who were planning on purchasing our software. Please accept our sincere apologies.
For previous product users, even if the products are discontinued we'll do our best to support them as promptly as possible. We'll *not* abandon the products simply because they are discontinued. If you have any question or need our help, please don't hesitate to contact us. We'll also provide any assistance for customers who wish to upgrade to the new Token2Shell product suite as it becomes available.
In order for us to release the first official version of a product, we need to prepare various product related setups and documents such as help file, software activation server, online shopping arrangements and etc. For the family of Token2Shell software, it seems such preparation would take us a couple of more months. We could wait until everything is ready but we have decided to let loose some RC(Release Candidate) versions first.
The RC versions are fully functional but do not include help documents and only usable until February 28, 2009. You can download the RC versions only from the following Windows Mobile community.
In order to download the RC versions, you need to create a forum account for the site. It's free and it also allows you to post messages and comments. (Please note that the forum account you created at Choung Networks will *NOT* work on that site. You need to create a new one if you do not already have an account for the site.)
MoDaCo is one of the best Windows Mobile community sites and you should be able to discuss more freely about the new Token2Shell/Mobile, device compatibility issues, or perhaps gather information for better(?) alternatives. :-)
The basic set of features of Token2Shell is similar to that of our previous product SecureToken. It supports SSH, TELNET, TCP direct, COM port and modem connections. The following briefly describes some of the new features. More information will be available when an official version is released. (We are not planning on releasing a "Lite" version of Token2Shell that is equivalent to Token2 Plus.)
The configuration files are plain XML style text files, hence migrating settings to another PC or backing them up is now as simple as copying files. The configuration files are also compatible with Token2Shell/Mobile. So if you need to use a terminal emulator on Windows Mobile devices, you just need to install Token2Shell/Mobile and copy the configuration files from your PC to the device. You can then use the same settings such as address book, macro and etc. with Token2Shell/Mobile and vice versa.

In SSH2 sessions, you can start downloading files from the directory you were working on. You do not need to login or make a separate connection. You just need to press the download toolbar button or its keyboard shortcut. You can also upload files in the same manner.
For the speed of the file transfers, if you have been thinking that SFTP or SCP in SSH is slow due to the encryptions involved or crappy Windows OS, we highly recommend trying out the "SSH2 Remote Copy" in Token2Shell. It's smoking fast! :-)
(You may need to make some adjustments to your server login script in order to automatically synchronize the current working directory on server with Token2Shell.)
When this feature is enabled, Token2Shell captures incoming data on a built-in text editor and highlights the keywords you have setup. When a keyword is found, you can also configure Token2Shell to bookmark the line with the keyword, or play a sound.

You can customize the layouts of the component panes such as address book, macro and etc.
The basic set of features of Token2Shell/Mobile is similar to that of our previous product mToken. It supports SSH, TELNET, TCP direct, COM port and modem connections. The following briefly describes some of the new features. More information will be available when an official version is released. (We are not planning on releasing a "Lite" version of Token2Shell/Mobile that is equivalent to mToken Lite.)
Token2Shell/Mobile now supports touch screen based Windows Mobile Classic and Professional as well as non-touch screen based Windows Mobile Standard.
The configuration files are plain XML style text files, hence migrating settings to another mobile device or backing them up is now as simple as copying files. The configuration files are also compatible with Token2Shell for desktop computers. Hence, you can use the same settings such as address book, macro and etc. with Token2Shell on desktop and vice versa.
In SSH2 sessions, you can start downloading files from the directory you were working on. You do not need to login or make a separate connection. You just need to launch "SSH2 File Browser" from the File Transfer menu. You can also upload files in the same manner.
(You may need to make some adjustments to your server login script in order to automatically synchronize the current working directory on server with Token2Shell/Mobile.)
Our terminal emulators now become Token2Shell. The new family of Token2Shell software supports Windows 2000/XP/Vista as well as Windows Mobile.
A version of Token2Shell for each platform will have features unique to that environment, but they will all share common configuration files wherever possible. For example, the address book entries created in Token2Shell on Windows XP can be used on Windows Mobile version of Token2Shell without any modification. They just need to be copied to the mobile device.
In order to make the transitions, our current software titles are discontinued. We'll be releasing bug fixes whenever necessary until the end of support date (http://choung.net/products/discontinued/). But, we'll no longer be adding features or enhancing the software.
Please also note that we have not migrated the forum user accounts from the previous version of our site. So, you need to create a new account if you wish to post messages or comments on our forums (http://choung.net/forums/).
If you have any question, please contact support@choung.net.
